Very Late Resource....

But I think you'll forgive me. :)
This week we have Doll Hair! I got this book at a thrift store type place. It didn't come with the curlers or cape, but the book has some neat ideas.

My dolls agreed to show you some hairstyles from the book.

French braid. Yes, I know these are horrid. Emily's hair was still partially curly, so I was struggling. This book does have good instructions on how to do it if you don't know how!

I know you can't see the clips in Ellen's hair very well, but the veil style is a cool do.

I had never seen this style until I got this book. Cute, right?

And, I know this is off topic, but I have to show you this chair I got. (at Once Upon A Child. You CAN find good stuff there.)

It adjusts to three heights! It will be SO cute for summer.

Resource is coming

Hey everybody....
just a quick message. I'm extra busy this week, so wanted to let you know that the resource is going to be a little late. I have something extra specail planned for it this week!
And...oh joy excitement!! My Amazon order is expected to come MUCH earlier! I am expecting to get Doll Dining tomorrow and Doll Fun in early March.

Resource Wednesday and What's Coming

This week's resource is another Joan Hinds Sewing book. It's called:
Sew the Contemporary Wardrobe for 18in Dolls

Again, this one is GREAT! It has the patterns included in the back of it, and very easy to understand instructions. I've made a lot of things out of this before, including a jumper and the A-line skirt, shown on the front of the book. You can get this one at the library.

What's to Come:

I hate spending a who lot of time writing without posting pictures, because when I see a blog where they've written paragraph after paragraph with no pictures in sight, I get really bored and leave. But, today unfortunately I have some writing to do! Bear with me.

I'm trying to keep you all updated on what is going to be coming up on my blog. Right now I don't have anything super major planned. I do plan on posting some reviews of a few American Girl books I recently read. I'd also like to fix up away to do my dollhouse tour, and show you some of my fake AG sized food. In early March, that begins my stream of doll birthdays, so be looking out for those, I'm cooking up some good ideas this year, especailly since Molly will be 10!

I'm interested in knowing what you think. Do you like the things I've been doing so far? What do you want to see more of...Photo shoots, reviews, photo stories, tutorials or something else? I love it when you comment, so please do!

Oh, and please look to my poll up in the corner. I want to buy something with my giftcard, so please tell me which one you think I should get!

Resource Wednesday

Hello everybody! Resource Wednesday again, already! This week, I have another American Girl Kit. It's called
Doll Purses!

I don't own this resource, but I have used it at a friend's house. It has an instruction book and pre-cut papers to make 3D sturdy purses! There is glitter, jewels, fancy paper and cool ribbons also included so you can decorate your purses. This one makes a great gift for any AG lover!!

Yet again...Resource Wednesday On Thursday

I'm terrible with the days of the week, aren't I?
Anyway, this week's resource is sort of different. It's not a book with tips and ideas...in fact you must come up with the ideas yourself! Folks, we have the Michael's American Girl Sticker Book!!!

This book includes stickers galore for Molly, Felicity, Rebecca, Kaya, Kit, Samantha, Kirsten, Julie, Addy, and Josepina. You can turn these stickers into LOTS of stuff. I have not used any yet, but you can make ornaments, doll sized picture frames, cards and if you mount them on paper, paper dolls for your dolls! There are 2 pages for each AG. I got this set at Meyer, but they're availible at Michael's of course.

Resource Wednesday On Thursday (Again!)

Well, sometimes my Wednesdays are just so busy I can't get my resource posted. Sorry. Here it is though! Hey, the goal is to get it posted once a week, right?
Doll School-By American Girl

This is one that I actually own and LOVE! It's an American girl kit. That means it includes a  LOT of stuff! It has a photo booklet with ideas for you doll school room,  and tons and tons of stuff, including:
-an easel
-a whiteboard and chalkboard
-posters
-stickers and instructions for making doll sized books
-a wrap around the room banner with cursive letters
-a dolls sized copy of "Meet Rebecca"
-math papers
-spelling tests
-journals
-a gradebook
-hall passes
-library cards
-report cards
-lunch tickets
-AND WAY MORE!!!

I will post some pictures of it another time. I know you can buy it on American Girl and Amazon, but you can't get it at the library.  Not a bad buy for all it includes. Best part is it comes with enough for 4 dolls. If you have more than that, you can photo copy everything!!

Rescource Wednesday Week 2:
Things To Make Your Doll, By Kathy Ross

There it is! I don't own this book, I picked it up at the library. It has all kinds of little things you can make out of household items...including a sock bathing suit or sundress, a hermit crab cage and various peices of jewelry and picture frames. (and of course, a lot more.) The sock dress is my favorite. You take an old sock and cut the bottom off and it turns into a purse. The sock becomes a swim suit (by sewing or pinning the bottom together) or if you get fancy you can add a skirt. Then I took felt and buttons and glues them on to decorate. So much fun! I will post some photos of my sock outfits later.

I decided that from now on, every Wednesday for a month or two at least, I'm going to post a book or a kit I've used in the past that has been great for dolls! The first one begins....TODAY!

Do you or your mom like to sew? This book is perfect! There are various outfits with easy intructions and a pattern packet in the back! This one focuses on every day life, including sports uniforms, school outfits or winter gear. Some libraries even carry the packet.
