Back to School!

All of my dolls had a great first day! Here's what they did after school.
Ellen: eating her after school snack!

Milk and cookies!

Molly is working on some homework.

She's cutting out a current event from AG magazine to share with her class tomorrow!

Kit and Emily are practing for cheerleading tryouts later this week.

Rebecca is reviewing a book of famous paintings for art class.

Well, and Samantha? She's SLEEPING!

Fun idea for today:
Make drinks for your doll without messy paint and glue!

All you have to do is find something small the color of the drink you want. For the milk and cookies, I used doll undies!

Ball it all up, and there you have it: A glass of milk!

Here is a green smoothie...

And fruit punch!

Hopefully I will have some actual at school photos of my dolls here this week. I was pretty busy getting my own school started today!

Back to School Count Down---7!

Last tip: THE NIGHT BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS
Getting the right rest and preparing everything for the first day of school is essential the night before. Molly is going to help me show you what she is doing to prepare tonight.

Lay out her clothes. Make sure you have everything ready to put on in the morning.

Go to bed at a reasonable hour! You know the saying "Early to bed, early to rise makes a man doll healthy wealthy and wise!"

Get all the supplies out and ready that she will need, books, pencils, glue, scissors, stapler, camera....lunch money...get it together!

Make sure she washes her face...

...and brush her teeth!

Make sure your doll is comfortable.

Your doll can read for a few mintues to help make her sleepy.

And then off to sleep...plenty of rest is best!

Back to School Count Down---6!

Today's new idea for your doll!
PACK THE PERFECT SCHOOL LUNCH!
Here is an overview of what you'll need.

Drinking sugary pop at school is a bad idea, and makes you lose focus while you're studying. Instead, drink water or organic milk with your lunch!

Pick a health sandwich to eat. This one is a BLT.

For something sweet, some fruit slices are great! Slice up some fresh apple and peaches for school lunch!

Need something crunchy? Chips and fries are unhealthy...but not carrots, celery and cucumber slices!

Now these are not so healthy, but a cookie is a great idea for dessert, especailly when made with farm fresh eggs, and organic milk.

Put everything in your lunchbox...and, don't forget the napkin!

Close it up tight...

and it's ready for school!

Today's tip:
PLAN YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL HAIRSTYLE!
On important thing to keep in mind is finding a comfortable and cute hairstyle that will keep your doll's  hair from falling in her face while she's studying. My dolls have a few "back and out of the way" styles to share with you!
French Braid

Pigtails

A pony tail

Braids

Small bun with ringlets
(if you like this hairstyle, I will be happy to do a "how to" for it. Comment.)

Back to School Count Down---3!

Hi Everybody! Ready for today's idea?
CHOOSE THE PERFECT BAG TO CARRY TO SCHOOL!!!
First, go to a store that has lots and lots of bags. I chose the "The Bag Store."

Ellen is helping me show you what bags to get, and what bags you should avoid.

Here is an overview of the store...

Ellen's first reccomendation is this green duffle bag. The advantages to this bag are it's long handles, cute style, and it has plenty of room for books, papers and your lunch!

It can easily be carried over your arm as well.

If a duffle bag isn't your thing, you can choose a large leather purse. Make sure that again, it has long enough handles and enough room for all your needs.

It has a large inside, BUT since it is narrow, it will keep you books and papers flat, so they don't get crumpled.

You can also choose a nice tote.

Again, long handle and lots of room, but when you add everything you need, it will be more bulgy than some other bags.

Now Ellen shares her thoughts on what NOT to get in picking your school bag. She does not reccomend a backpack, as they are hard to accquire, hard for dolls to put on, and it is very hard on doll's backs to carry heavy books.

Also, this tote is adorable, but it is too small and the handles will never fit over a doll's shoulder.

And, NEVER pick a peice of falling apart junk like this.

A suitcase won't work well either.

"I hope I've helped you decide what bags to get for your dolls!"
