Easter Tea

Well, the computer works again. But, unfortunately, this is my last post until May. I will have TONS of pictures and lots of fun things to show you when I start posting again then.
My dolls had an Easter Tea on Saturday to celebrate Easter before Ellen leaves. They wore fancy dresses and ate yummy treats!

Happy Easter!

Computer Down

Hi girls!
Wanted to let you know that my computer is dead, so I can't post any pictures until the parts come in. Hopefully we'll have it fixed soon. I'll take lots of pictures to post when I'm back. Also, I leave for vacation on Wednesday, so I'll be taking Ellen with me. I'll try to post before I go, but in case I don't, MORE COMING IN MAY!
Happy almost Easter!

Another Sewing Project...Red ruffle bathing suit!

This week was another really busy one. For some reason, spring where I live is very late, so I've had some rainy indoor time to sew when things slow down. This week, I made something for summer....

A red ruffle bathing suit!

This was my first time working with ruffles. It look lots of patience, but overall I felt like it worked out.

For this bathing suit, I used no directions whatsoever. I started sewing out of my own head! The part where the ruffle is located is what was originally going to be the neckline, and I was planning on making it 2 peice, but I eventually decided it looked cute on the waist. I then sewed on the upped body peice, and added straps.

back.

See how I did that?

What do you think? Should I make another bathing suit like this in the near future?

Ellen's First Outdoor Adventure!

Ellen just arrived to here to live with my other dolls at Christmas, so she hasn't had any chance to visit our backyard yet, due to all of the rain and snow we've had. Today, however, we had a little time to go out together!
First we went to the front porch to check on our flower boxes.

Ellen used Kit's watering can to water a few of the pansies.

Ellen loved seeing all the lovely pansies!

Then we went to the backyard. "Wow! It's beautiful out here!" Ellen said.

We went up to our playset and Ellen swung on the rings.

Back in the woods, Ellen found a daffodil! "It really is spring!" she said.

Then, Ellen climbed the ladder to the tree house. This was her first visit to it ever!

Ellen took in the sights. (Yes, I realize our table is broken, it needs serious repair)

Then she discovered the pulley.

Ellen had to be very careful. One step back would send her flying at least 12 feet down!

Ellen's favorite spot in the whole tree house was the window.

Suddenly, it looked like rain, so to keep Ellen from getting wet, we ran inside.

Ellen checked on the herbs we are growing inside, just to make sure they had enough water.

Not long after, it started to rainshower! We had perfect timing.

Even though we didn't spend much time outside, Ellen loved her first outdoor adventure! More outdoor adventures to come soon!

Doll Chairs!!!

This weekend has been full of projects! I have another one to show you today. For several months now, my dad and I have been working on some doll chairs.

In the fall, I bought this chair for a dollar at Goodwill. Then I had an idea. "My dad and I could replicate this chair!" I thought. So I asked him about it and he agreed. We have pretty busy lives, so it's taken us awhile to work on it, but I've thoroughly enjoyed doing it with him, and I've learned a lot!

Here are the parts to one of my chairs. We are making 3 total, so I will have a set of 4. We changed a few things, like our back rungs are not square and the seat is not woven.

This is after we glued one of the chairs last night. It had to wear clamps over night!

Here are the chairs now! (We have to make an adjustment to the seats on the other 2, they will be done shortly.)

I think we did a pretty nice job replicating, don't you think?

Samantha and Ellen are sitting in the new chairs. Rebecca pulled up her rocking chair.

They're the perfect size!

I love my new chairs! They will be so great!

Thank you Dad for helping me make them. :)
