Doll Dining----It's FINALLY here!

Guess what came by UPS yesterday??? Yep! I was going for a sleepover at Grandma's house and the truck pulled in just as we were leaving. Yay! Well, I've got tons of pictures to show you, so better get started.
Brand new out of the box.

Pages froms the book.

I LOVE how it teaches you to make food froam craft foam! Mom said we can go to Joann later and get some. I love clay, but we don't own much and it's more expensive.

List of ALL it includes.

It has adorable paper plates.

Sweet order pads. My baby brother ripped a page off one of them, but hey, we can spare that, right?

This is the overview page of all it comes with, but I think it's deceptive.

Open signs. The reverse side has "closed." The flowered band is so that you can make a chef's hat!

Place mats. Get this, they're reversible!

Opposite side. Now how cool is that?

Napkin rings.

Other side.

I didn't have time to make the pizza box yet.

It has gift cards, debit cards, Frequent Customer cards, Ag money and coupons!

Take out boxes and debit cards.

Posters that help you decide was cuisine to serve.

Reverse side. Lots of options!!!

These are table games. Cool ideas.

Apron pattern. My dad just fixed my sewing machine so I'm for sure going to make one!

These are Table Tents.

Stickers to help you make food.

YUM. T bone steak.

More stickers, "hello, my name is ____" tags and flowers.

How does that look all together? Way cute!

Sorry this is sideways. There are 8 menus, 4 for breakfast and 4 for lunch and dinner. This is a breakfast one.

I am DEFINATELY going to set up a resturaunt in the next couple of days. I will post tons more pictures!!! (when I have it all assembled.) for now, please vote on the pole above. :)

Very Late Resource....

But I think you'll forgive me. :)
This week we have Doll Hair! I got this book at a thrift store type place. It didn't come with the curlers or cape, but the book has some neat ideas.

My dolls agreed to show you some hairstyles from the book.

French braid. Yes, I know these are horrid. Emily's hair was still partially curly, so I was struggling. This book does have good instructions on how to do it if you don't know how!

I know you can't see the clips in Ellen's hair very well, but the veil style is a cool do.

I had never seen this style until I got this book. Cute, right?

And, I know this is off topic, but I have to show you this chair I got. (at Once Upon A Child. You CAN find good stuff there.)

It adjusts to three heights! It will be SO cute for summer.

A sample of what the pages look like.
Thanks for being patient with me!

Test! Test!

Will everyone do me a huge favor? If you can see the photo I posted below, will you please comment and tell me that you indeed can view it? I have a new method for post my photo, and I want to know if you can see them!

Historical Fiction Photos

I felt in the mood to play with the photos online that I've already taken and show it to you! Last spring, I dressed my dolls up for various time periods, did a photo shoot of each and selected one picture. Then I wrote a "story" to go with it. This was originally my friend's idea and I thought it would be fun to do too. I want to do more of these when the weather warms up, but for now...here is that ones I've done!

America's Daughters

One of the first daughters of America is Sarah Williams, a pilgrim girl in 1620. This is an amazing painting, done by an Englishman during her work of gathering food for her settlement. It is said he colored it after doing a rough sketch beforehand.

Marie Jane Lewis is our next daughter. This photo was taken on a very early morning in 1862. She is an abolitionist's daughter, and she is carrying food and supplies to slaves that are hiding in the store house. She wears a nightgown, her shawl wrapped around her.

This is photo is labeled "Marie." She appears to have a kind face and warm heart towards slaves.

The next daughter is Mamie Phillips, in 1898. This photo was taken of her by the pillar of the front of her female seminary finishing school. She wears a victorian style puff sleeved dress and hair style. This was probably taken for her parents at home.

This photo was labeled "My Little Sister." It was taken in 1934, during the great depression. It depicts a young girl, washing clothing and hanging on her clothes line on a farm. Her brother took this photo with his camera, newly given to him for his birthday, a rare gift during this time, from his Grandfather

This is a photo of Susan, taken in 1944 during World War Two. She is a young school teacher, promised to be married to a soldier fighting on the war front. She sent him this picture and note, and he kept it in his hat daily. The picture is thought to have been taken in the school yard during the fall.

American Girl New Stuff!

American Girl just released some new cute things for spring!

Flower Dress, which is very cute. I don't think I'm buying it anytime soon though.

I was so excited to see this come out, because I just ordered it the other day for SUPER cheap on Amazon! Here is American Girl's description. (Amazon doesn't have one, so I bought this totally blind.)

Order up! This kit has everything a girl needs to open the doll restaurant of her dreams. Start a pretend pizza parlor. Design an imaginary diner. Or set up a make-believe American Girl Cafe! Includes an idea book, order pads, carry-out bags, and a daily specials board and easel, plus the supplies needed to make menus, place mats, napkin rings, a doll-sized chef's hat and apron, and lots more. 32 pages

I just love AG mysteries, especailly because they're geared slightly higher for older girls. Rebecca's mystery looks awesome!

And lastly, the tennis set is also so cute! I love it. :)

So about my order from Amazon, yes I ordered Doll Dining, and I also order Doll Play. (not Doll Fun, sorry) I ordered another book that is not doll related as well. I have no idea when it will come since 2 of those 3 books are "Pre Order Specails." It says April 6 is the Estimated delivery date, but I sure hope that's wrong!

Winter Photo

What's better on a winter's day than a good book, a comfy blanket and a nice plate of fresh baked cookies?
